Tight Access Exploration

We Drill Where Truck Rigs Can’t

In the Victorian Goldfields, the best targets are rarely sitting in an open paddock. They are hidden in steep gullies, behind narrow fence lines, and down overgrown bush tracks. While large drilling competitors require bulldozed access roads and massive drill pads, Prestige Drilling takes a different approach.
We utilize a fleet of agile, track-mounted Cortech rigs designed specifically for tight access exploration. These machines walk directly off the truck and onto the collar location, navigating restricted terrain that truck-mounted rigs simply cannot reach.

By eliminating the need for heavy earthworks just to get a rig on site, we allow you to test targets that were previously placed in the ‘too hard basket,’ ensuring you get the data you need from the exact coordinates required.

Low-Impact Access for Sensitive Environments

Exploration permits in State Forests are becoming harder to secure, with strict regulations preventing new track construction. Prestige Drilling solves this access problem by utilizing existing narrow tracks and ‘walking’ our equipment in with minimal ground disturbance.

Our track-mounted setup has a significantly lower environmental footprint than traditional heavy rigid trucks. We don’t need to push wide access roads through native vegetation; we simply navigate the existing terrain. This ‘light-touch’ approach not only keeps your project compliant with environmental standards but also helps streamline the approval process with landholders and earth resources regulators who are wary of the mess left by heavy machinery.

Total Self-Sufficiency in Remote Locations

True remote exploration requires more than just getting the rig to the site—it requires the logistics to keep it running. Unlike other contractors who expect the Geologist to organize water cartage and support infrastructure, Prestige Drilling is fully autonomous.

We source from the nearest water supply and support vehicles, managing the entire supply chain from the nearest dam to the drill pad. Furthermore, our mechanically capable team keep the drill turning. If a hose blows or a motor issue arises 20km into the bush, we fix it on the pad immediately. No waiting for external service crews, no standby charges, and no excuses—just consistent meterage.

Agile, Compliant, and Completely Self-Sufficient

Why Victorian Geologists Trust Prestige for Remote Exploration

When your target lies in steep forestry or behind narrow farm gates, you need more than just a rig that fits—you need a team that doesn’t require hand-holding. Here is why freelance geologists and junior explorers partner with Prestige for their most challenging access programs:

Mechanical Reliability on the Pad: Remote access shouldn’t mean high risk. Our mechanically capable team keep the drill turning. If a hose blows or a component fails 5km down a bush track, we fix it immediately on-site—preventing the costly downtime and standby charges typical of “cowboy” operators.

We Solve the Access Problem: Our fleet of track-mounted Cortech rigs is built to navigate narrow bush tracks and rugged terrain that truck-mounted rigs simply cannot reach. We walk the rig directly to the collar, eliminating the need for expensive earthworks or new road construction.
Low-Impact & Permit Friendly: Strict environmental regulations in State Forests can stall exploration. Our low-footprint setup minimizes ground disturbance, helping you stay compliant with Earth Resources Regulation (ERR) and maintaining positive relationships with landholders who fear the mess left by heavy machinery.
Zero Logistical Headaches: We don’t expect you to organize our infrastructure. Prestige Drilling is 100% self-sufficient, mobilizing with our own support trucks, water tanks, and pumps. You provide the coordinates; we manage the supply chain.
